Hi, I am using a German keyboard and watching the tutorial I asked myself the same question. Afterwards I just tried various keys and found out that it is the less-than sign left from the “y”.

    Hi, Eddie.

I’m working with the German version of AI CS3. Maybe that’s the reason. Just tried it again and it still works. Hmmm

    Hey corey

When i past the grids into PS and colour it i get just a large image with the selected colour and not the grids with the coloured line likes yours, have any idea why?

Any help would be great, really want to try this out.

    cheers

    Hi Tarn,

before applying the colour you have to lock the transparency. outmost left icon directly above your top layer.

    All the best,
    Rene

The repeat-key on a german keyboard (german CS3-version) is ‘ö’, wich is a german-special-character. It’s an o with two dots.

Hi there I just wanted to compliment you on the newest video addition you uploaded, you did a great job at creating this and commend you for the technique. I have seen this done before but a poor recreation at best. i truly enjoy your videos and i am glad that i bumped into your site by accident.

    Hi… Nice one…

I didn’t found it on a Portuguese keyboard… Instead, during the grid creation, I changed the language definitions on the windows vista options, in the programs bar, usually at the bottom of the page, and, even without knowing exactly which key was, I tried to press the one next to “1” and it worked, then, after, I just changed it back, in the bottom icon, close to the date and time, back to Portuguese, and, it worked fine. For those still in XP, I believe it is exactly the same as I said here.
And good spot on that locking the transparency. I didn’t noticed, and just created the grid on Ai. But, well, if I was going to make all the tutorial, I would probably noticed, however, thanks to you too.

I cant select the elipse tool because when I press on it in illustrator I doesn’t give me to change from the ractangular shape tool even not ALT+M and all others tool have the same problem

    Bonjour!
Sur un clavier canadien français, il faut utiliser la touche ù, près du majuscule gauche!
    Bonne chance!

I’m really enjoying all of your creation and inspired by you, but this time I really can’t get,
when i deselect the grid in illustrator I don’t see the grid like yours like see through, so when i paste in photoshop it’s like grid in white back ground solid color…
i think you missed some explanation in illustrator… i only see vertical curves only not the horizontal curve
