Create A Most-Used Brush Set
If you’re tired of having to dig through all the “funky” brushes in the Brush Preset Picker to get to the ones that you want, then try this: First, open the Preset Manager (under the Edit menu), and organize and remove any unwanted or unused preset brushes. Then, click the Save Set button to create your own set of presets that only contain the brushes that you use over and over again. In the Brush Preset Picker’s flyout menu, select Replace Brushes and choose your set of saved brushes.

The brushes panel in Photoshop is wayyy overdue for a complete revamp. We should have subfolders for different brush sets which you can activate or deactivate (and unload from memory) in a single click.
Equally useful would be the ability to select only certain brushes in a set when you load them, so you can append only the ones you want – especially if the set being appended has a large number of brushes.
This should have been done years ago.
Right now, there is no easy way to organize brush sets other than replacing an incumbent set or appending, which can get really messy.
Adobe seems more preoccupied with new features that making old ones more efficient and modern. Some of the new features are awesome, but some pre-existing ones are neglected in version after version.
