BRUCE FRASER RECEIVES LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FROM THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PHOTOSHOP PROFESSIONALS

Bruce FraserPhotoshop Legend Recognized for a Lifetime of Contributions to the Development, Advancement and Education of the Digital Imaging Community

TAMPA, FL – Dec. 13, 2006 – The National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) is proud to announce that Bruce Fraser – best-selling author, internationally recognized Adobe® Photoshop® expert, Photoshop® Hall of Famer, and co-founder and principal of Pixel Genius LLC – has been named as the recipient of the first NAPP Lifetime Achievement Award.

According to Scott Kelby, president of NAPP, “I don’t think there’s a Photoshop professional out there, that doesn’t owe a significant chunk of their expertise, and a big debt of gratitude, to Bruce Fraser. He almost single-handedly shaped the way we work with color, how we process RAW images in Photoshop, and even how we sharpen our photos. I think it’s safe to say that this industry wouldn’t be where it is today without Bruce’s input, advice, and guidance. He’s a gifted and talented instructor who has dedicated his life to taking the mystery out of digital imaging technology, and that’s why we’re proud to honor him as the first recipient of NAPP’s Lifetime Achievement Award.”

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Bruce is one of the world’s leading authorities on color and digital imaging. During his career Bruce has written hundreds of magazine articles and is the co-author of the award-winning Real World Photoshop series, as well as the bestselling books Real World Color Management and Real World Camera Raw. His amazing insights have made him a much sought-after speaker and consultant on image reproduction, color correction, and color management. During his celebrated career, Bruce has written for Photoshop User, MacWeek and MacUser magazines, as well as penning the popular “Out of Gamut” column for CreativePro.com.

Bruce is widely regarded as the father of digital color management, and has become an industry legend by teaching color and its importance in the digital workflow. Since the early years, he has played an important role in the development of Adobe Photoshop as an Alpha and Beta tester for the program.

In December 2002, he partnered with five other industry experts to form Pixel Genius LLC – a company dedicated to creating leading-edge products and services for the photographic and digital imaging industries.

In addition to receiving the NAPP Lifetime Achievement Award, in 2005 Bruce was also recognized at Photoshop World when he was inducted into the Photoshop Hall of Fame. For more information about the Photoshop Hall of Fame Awards, visit http://www.photoshophalloffame.com/2005winners.html.
